Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds pork sausage (loose)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds bell peppers (assorted colours, seeded, cut into 1/2" strips, about 3 peppers)
  • 1 1/4 cup yellow onion, sliced (sliced 1/2" thick)
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar (sherry or red wine vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 4 (256 grams) kaiser bread rolls (split & toasted, or your favorite buns)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Form 4 Patties from the ground meat.

  • Step 2: Heat a skillet over medium heat lightly sprayed with oil.

  • Step 3: Fry the patties until nicely brown and cooked through (about 5 minutes per side).

  • Step 4: While the patties are cooking in another pan, over medium heat, add oil, the peppers and onions, cover.

  • Step 5: Stir often, cook until wilted and soft (8-10 minutes).

  • Step 6: Add wine and honey.

  • Step 7: Cook stirring (about 2 minutes).

  • Step 8: Season with Salt & pepper.

  • Step 9: Place patties on toasted bottom of the buns, top with peppers & onions.
