Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 medium (1 pound) potatoes (peeled and diced)
  • 1 small apple (tart apple, cored and diced)
  • 1 can (8 ounce) sauerkraut
  • 1 tablespoon yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 (1 pound) smoked pork chops
  • FOR SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons brown mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil potatoes until just tender.

  • Step 2: Combine potatoes, apples, sauerkraut and onion in a 9 inch square baking dish.

  • Step 3: Sprinkle on the cheese, top with pork chops.

  • Step 4: Bake in medium oven (350ºF) for 30 minutes.

  • Step 5: Meanwhile, in sauce pan, melt butter, add flour. Stir until smooth.

  • Step 6: Gradually add milk. Bring to boil and stir until thickened. Add Mustard, salt and pepper.

  • Step 7: Pour sauce over chops. Bake uncovered for 10 more minutes, or until heated through.
