The ingredients are:
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins (white)
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 F.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, sift together dry ingredients.

  • Step 3: Add raisins and caraway seeds.

  • Step 4: In another bowl, mix together eggs, buttermilk and butter.

  • Step 5: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix only until moistened - don't overmix.

  • Step 6: Grease a bundt, large loaf or similar pan well , with butter and place the batter in.

  • Step 7: Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour or until done.

  • Step 8: Cool on rack.
