Step 1: In a heavy pot, beat the egg, add 3 cups milk, 1 cup cream and vanilla-mix well.
Step 2: Over medium heat, bring to a boil stirring constantly.
Step 3: Add the tapioca and turn heat down to a minimal temp to simmer.
Step 4: Stir very often and cook until thick and the tapioca is very soft- add a bit of milk as needed to keep the consistency on the thin side - you should cook for 1-2 hours or until done.
Step 5: Serve warm or cold.
