Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 sheet (170 grams) frozen puff pastry
  • 2 apples (peeled and sliced, we used Granny Smith apples)
  • 1 egg (beaten with 1 teaspoon water)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Thaw pastry for 20 minutes.

  • Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 3: On a lightly floured board, roll pastry to a 12 x 15 inch rectangle. Place dough on ungreased baking sheet; range apples down the center, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture (cinnamon mixed with sugar) and add raisins if desired. Brush edges of dough with egg and sugar cinnamon mixture. Roll up jellyroll style with seam side down; turn ends under and brush with egg.

  • Step 4: Make diagonal slits across the top at 2 inch intervals.

  • Step 5: Bake for 35-40 minutes.
