Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small yellow onion (chopped, about 1/3 cup or a little more)
  • 128 grams dry orzo (dry, 1 1/2 cups)
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large skillet, melt the butter until sizzling hot. Add in onion and dry orzo. Sauté stirring over medium heat until orzo and onion is golden brown.

  • Step 2: Slowly stir in the broth and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer 20 minutes or until orzo is tender and almost all the broth has been absorbed. Remove from the heat, stir in the basil and Parmesan. Add in salt and pepper to taste. Serve!
