Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 125 grams butter, melted (but cooled)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plain)
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 2/3 cup dark chocolate buttons (or chopped chocolate)
  • 2/3 cup white chocolate button (or chopped chocolate)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla.

  • Step 2: Sift together the flour, baking powder and cocoa and mix this and the chocolate buttons into the mixture and combine together lightly but thoroughly.

  • Step 3: Roll quarter cup portions into a ball and place, with room for spreading, onto a big tray lined with baking paper.

  • Step 4: Flatten them down slightly either with your fingers or a wooden spoon.

  • Step 5: Bake in a preheat 180C oven until golden brown - about 20 minutes.

  • Step 6: Cool them and then store in an airtight container.
