Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla.
Step 2: Sift together the flour, baking powder and cocoa and mix this and the chocolate buttons into the mixture and combine together lightly but thoroughly.
Step 3: Roll quarter cup portions into a ball and place, with room for spreading, onto a big tray lined with baking paper.
Step 4: Flatten them down slightly either with your fingers or a wooden spoon.
Step 5: Bake in a preheat 180C oven until golden brown - about 20 minutes.
Step 6: Cool them and then store in an airtight container.
