The ingredients are:
  • 1 pie crust (either store bought or homemade)
  • 2 strips (4 ounces) bacon
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 cup grated colby jack cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Nutmeg, 1 pinch

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Cook the bacon until crisp, then chop it into pieces and reserve. Add the chopped broccoli to the pan and season with a pinch of salt and pepper and saute in the bacon fat for 5 minutes until tender.

  • Step 3: Evenly spread the cooked broccoli and bacon in your tart crust, and top it with the grated cheese.

  • Step 4: In a bowl mix together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, black pepper and nutmeg. Pour into the tart shell, and bake the tart for 30 to 40 minutes. Or and till golden. let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
