Step 1: Slice cucumbers into 1/4 inch rounds.
Step 2: Fill 2 mason jars with cucumbers.
Step 3: Combine remaining ingredients in a medium pot and heat on stove top until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Step 4: Pour brine in equal amounts over cucumbers in jars, topping off with water if needed.
Step 5: Cover with lids and rings and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 days before serving.
