Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds plantains (ripe, cut into 1/2 x 3 inch sticks)
  • 1 can (14 ounce) jackfruit (sliced)
  • 15 (135 grams) spring roll wrappers
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Canola oil (for frying, 1 cup, up to 2 cups, depending on skillet size)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Separate the spring roll wrappers, arrange your plates in sequence : sliced banana, sugar, jackfruit.

  • Step 2: Lay the wrapper, dip the banana in sugar and put on one end of the wrapper (horizontal to you), lay a slice of jackfruit on top.

  • Step 3: Fold starting at the end of the wrapper with the filling, fold the 2 sides (left & right) in, then roll up to the end. It will look like a little burrito! Seal the end with water.

  • Step 4: Heat the oil over medium heat and fry the turon with the sealed end side down first (to keep it sealed). Cook until slightly browned and flip.

  • Step 5: Fry the other side, and once slightly browned, sprinkle sugar(1 tablespoon per roll) onto the oil to caramelize and glaze the fried roll. Cook until golden brown.
