Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 baked (9 inch) pie crust
  • Ground cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium saucepan, stir together the sugar, cornstarch and salt.

  • Step 2: Whisk in the half-and-half and cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture is thickened and bubbly, this takes about 25-30 minutes.

  • Step 3: Remove from heat.

  • Step 4: Stir in butter, brown sugar and vanilla until butter melts.

  • Step 5: Pour into baked pie shell and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.

  • Step 6: Bake the pie in a 325° oven for 30 minute the center of the pie will not be set.

  • Step 7: Cool the pie on a wire rack for 1 hour.

  • Step 8: Chill for at least 3 hours before serving, pie will set up upon chilling.

  • Step 9: Cover for longer storage.
