Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 jar (12 ounce) fig preserves (I prefer sugar free if available)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 2 teaspoons orange juice
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine (I use a cabernet)
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons whole grain mustard
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Kosher salt to taste
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Glaze ... Add the preserves, orange juice, wine, vinegar, and mustard to a small pot; and, bring to a light boil. Reduce to low heat and simmer 5 minutes. Turn off the heat, add the orange zest; and, season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 2: Cool completely, then refrigerate. Use immediately; or, put in a mason jar, tupperware container, etc; and store up to 10 days.

  • Step 3: Serve and ENJOY! ... As I said, I love to use this on cornish hens (RecipeZazz Recipe#24274); but, it is great on so many other cuts of meat - chicken, pork, and lamb.
