Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Step 2: Beat cream cheese till fluffy; gradually blend in 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and salt. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Pour filling into crust. Bake at 325 for about 35 minutes or till set.
Step 3: Combine sour cream, 3 tablespoons of sugar and vanilla, then spoon over top of pie. Bake 10 minutes longer. Cool. Chill for at least 6 hours or longer is better. Top individual slices with fruit pie filling.
