Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds fresh apricots (or 6 cups pitted)
  • 2 pounds cherries, pitted (ripe)
  • 3/4 pound fresh blueberries (1 pint)
  • 16 cups water (1 gallon)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Bring 1 gallon of water to a boil.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, wash all the fruit. Cut apricots in half and remove the pits. Pit the cherries.

  • Step 3: When the water starts to boil, carefully add fruit and bring water back to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and let the mixture boil for 30 min, uncovered.

  • Step 4: Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, or to taste. Let kompot cool completely, strain off the juice and refrigerate. Serve chilled.
