Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR THE CHICKEN
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 ground pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Oil to fry
  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Garnish
  • Chopped scallions
  • Sesame seeds

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium bow, combine cornstarch with salt and pepper. Add in diced chicken, using a spoon or your hands toss to coat the chicken completely with the cornstarch.

  • Step 2: In another bowl add beaten egg.

  • Step 3: Dip the cornstarch-coated chicken in beaten egg, the fry until golden, crispy and cooked through. Set aside.

  • Step 4: In a large pan, heat oil and fry garlic until fragrant.


  • Step 5: Add the bell pepper, cider vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup and sugar. Bring to a boil.


  • Step 6: When the sauce has thickened, add the cooked chicken. Toss to coat.


  • Step 7: Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice.
