Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups milk (warmed just a few seconds to make it close to room temperature but not hot)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (not hot)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl, whisk the egg, the whisk in the milk, melted butter and vanilla.

  • Step 2: In another bowl, combine the flour with salt, baking soda, and sugar; add to the butter mixture, mix until everything is very smooth. Pour your mixture into a icing piping bag or funnel. Set aside for a few minutes.

  • Step 3: Pour about 2 inches or more of oil into a heavy pot, allow to heat up for about 2 minutes on high then turn down to a low-medium. To test if the oil is hot enough drip a small dot of the batter into the oil. If it frys up, then its ready.

  • Step 4: Drop about 2 teaspoons of dough into the hot oil (you can make them bigger if you want). Let it sit for about a minute and then using a fork or spatula slowly flip them over. Cook until they are golden brown (watch these little guys cook up very fast!). Remove to a bowl. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
