Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 ounces red onion (1 1/2 medium red onions, thinly sliced)
  • 4 ounces red onion (1/2 onion, finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup panko crumbs
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms (fresh)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Toss bread crumbs with chopped onions, nutmeg, salt & Pepper.

  • Step 2: Add beef, mix lightly.

  • Step 3: Form into 4 patties 1/2" thick.

  • Step 4: Heat lightly oiled skillet over medium heat.

  • Step 5: Add patties, cook 5-6 minutes each side.

  • Step 6: Remove from pan.

  • Step 7: In a bowl mix the cornstarch, boullion & water.

  • Step 8: In the same skillet melt butter, add mushrooms and sliced onions.

  • Step 9: Saute for about 5 minutes, stirring often.

  • Step 10: Stir in the cornstarch mixture.

  • Step 11: Cook until thickened.

  • Step 12: Add patties back.

  • Step 13: Turn to coat.

  • Step 14: Heat through.

  • Step 15: Ready to serve.
