Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 800 grams frozen mussels (greenshell mussels)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 150 ml white dry wine
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, membrane & seeds removed, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce (Thai)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sweet red pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sweet orange pepper, thinly sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil in a large wok or skillet.

  • Step 2: Fry the garlic, onion & ginger until golden (apprx 5 minutes).

  • Step 3: Add the fish sauce, wine & jalapeno.

  • Step 4: Saute for 1 minute.

  • Step 5: Add frozen Mussels, cover & simmer 8 minute.

  • Step 6: Add chili sauce,1/4 cup each of basil & mint.

  • Step 7: Mix add red and orange peppers.

  • Step 8: Simmer until heated through.

  • Step 9: Serve over rice or noodles.

  • Step 10: Sprinkle on remaining basil & mint.
