Step 1: Mix the brown sugar and tomato paste in a small saucepan on medium-low heat. Add the vinegars. The paste can is exactly the right size. (I just poured some balsamic in and then topped it off with the cider vinegar).
Step 2: Add the spices as the mixture is heating up. I estimated the amounts. I would just pour them into my palm and toss them in. (sorry!) I know it was more onion than garlic and it might have been more salt than listed.
Step 3: Simmer until flavors are combined. I used this right away but you could store in fridge and the flavors might improve.
