  • 1 pound split peas (yellow)
  • 75 grams ham (finely chopped, 1/2 cup)
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, minced
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 cups diced potatoes, diced
  • 2 cups diced rutabagas, diced
  • 2 cups diced celery root
  • 1 1/2 cups leeks, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine peas, ham, onion,parsley, thyme and water in a large Dutch oven and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
