Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 80 grams dried cherries (sour cherries, 1/2 cup dried)
  • 1/3 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 teaspoon lemon rind, grated
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 pounds pears (Bosc pears, peeled, cored, quartered and cut cross-wise into 1/2 inch thick slices, 4 1/2 cups)
  • 1 pound apples (peeled, cored, quartered and cut crosswise into 1/2 thick slices, 2 1/4 cups)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon mace (ground)
  • 6 tablespoons butter (chilled and cut into small pieces)
  • 1 cup oats
  • 3/4 cup turbinado sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine first 6 ingredients (cherries - apples) in a bowl, toss. Spoon mixture into a 11 x 7 inch baking dish which has been coated with cooking spray.

  • Step 2: In a food processor place the dry ingredients (flour - mace); pulse 5 times or until combined. Add butter and pulse 20 times or until mixture resembles crumbs. Add oats and sugar; pulse 5 times or until combined.

  • Step 3: Sprinkle oat mixture over pear mixture.

  • Step 4: Bake at 375 degrees F for 1 hour or until topping is golden and filling is bubbly.

  • Step 5: Cool on rack for 10 minutes before serving.
