Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms (larger size)
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons yellow onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons red bell peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 pound crabmeat (small shredded)
  • 2 cups crackers, crushed
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, ground
  • Cayenne pepper (to you taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 to 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (white cheddar)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  • Step 2: Wash the mushrooms and remove the stems. Sets caps aside and chop half of the stems.

  • Step 3: Heat butter in a skillet. Add in celery, onions, peppers and garlic, saute for a few minutes. Transfer to a bowl and cool in refrigerator.

  • Step 4: To the cooled onion mixture, add in all other ingredients (except the cheese slices).

  • Step 5: Place the mushroom caps into a buttered baking dish, stem-side up.

  • Step 6: Spoon a heaping teaspoon full into each cap (depending on the size of your caps).

  • Step 7: Cover each cap with shredded cheese.

  • Step 8: Bake 10-15 minutes.
