Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound bok choy
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 8 ounces beef rump (steak, thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet sherry
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, shopped
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wash the bok choy and drain it. Cut the leaves into thin strips.

  • Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a frying pan or wok; add the garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.

  • Step 3: Heat the remaining oil; add the meat in small batches and stir-fry for 3 minutes over high heat until the meat has browned but is not cooked through. Remove the meat from the pan.

  • Step 4: Stir-fry the bok choy for 30 seconds or until it is just wilted.

  • Step 5: Add the meat, soy sauce and sherry.

  • Step 6: Sir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until the meat is tender.

  • Step 7: Add the basil and sesame oil and toss well.

  • Step 8: Serve immediately.

  • Step 9: Garnish with strips of red pepper, if desired.
