Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 300 grams ham (2 cups cubed and cooked)
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (Kerrygold cheddar cheese, I'm using plain cheddar)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives ( to garnish)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil potatoes in skins until fork tender. Cool, and slice into 1/2 inch slices.

  • Step 2: In a buttered 13x9-inch baking dish, alternate the sliced potatoes, onion, and the ham in layers. Sprinkle the cheese over this.

  • Step 3: Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the top of the cheese.

  • Step 4: At this point the casserole can be covered and refrigerated overnight.

  • Step 5: Bake uncovered at 375°F for 30-35 minutes, until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

  • Step 6: Garnish with fresh chives.
