Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound sausage (Andouie Sausage, remove from casing
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion (rough chopped)
  • 1 can (14.5 ounce) diced tomatoes (seasoned basil, garlic and oregano tomatoes, do not drain)
  • 1 can (15.5 ounce) Great Northern Beans (do not drain)
  • 2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced carrots (not too thin)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme(ground works fine)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock (if needed)
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce(or to taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a dutch oven over medium heat,add meat and onion then cook until meat is lightly browned and onion is crisp-tender.

  • Step 2: If needed drain,then return to pan,then add the next 10 ingredients.

  • Step 3: If you need more liquid add stock and bring to a boil.

  • Step 4: Cover and reduce heat to simmer let cook for 50 to 60 minutes,or until vegetables are tender.
