Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 celery ribs, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cans (28 ounce) tomatoes (crushed)
  • 1 can (16 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 1 bottle (6 ounce) clam juice
  • 18 ounces potatoes (3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 fresh basil leaves (torn up)
  • 1/2 pound halibut fish (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1/2 pound sole fish (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1/2 pound red snapper fish (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 5 to 6 fresh basil leaves, chopped (for garnish)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place oil in a large pot.

  • Step 2: Add onion, garlic, celery, carrots and green pepper, and saute over medium heat just until al dente.

  • Step 3: Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, clam juice and potatoes.

  • Step 4: Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.

  • Step 5: Add pepper, oregano and basil.

  • Step 6: Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until potatoes are done.

  • Step 7: Add fish and wine.

  • Step 8: Cover and continue simmering for 10 minutes.

  • Step 9: Sprinkle with chopped parsley and basil.
