Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 1 yellow onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped finely
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 can (14 ounce) tomatoes (chopped, in juice)
  • Sugar, 1 pinch
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, oregano or marjoram)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 14 ounces dry macaroni pasta (such as long hollow Greek or other short pasta)
  • 1 package (14 ounces) frozen mixed seafood (thawed and drained)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oil (2tbls) in large saucepan, add onion and garlic, fry for about 5 minutes, until softened.

  • Step 2: Pour the wine into the saucepan and bring to a boil.

  • Step 3: Add tomatoes and their juice, the sugar, chopped herbs, salt and pepper and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  • Step 4: Meanwhile, cook the macaroni in a large saucepan of boiling salted water for 10-12 minutes or till tender.

  • Step 5: Drain the pasta and return to pan.

  • Step 6: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and toss together.

  • Step 7: Add seafood to tomato sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes until heated through.

  • Step 8: Serve the seafood on top of the pasta.
