Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 yellow onion (sliced thin)
  • 4 ounces bacon slices (4 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Garnish
  • 5 ounces bread slices (5 slices, toasted)
  • 5 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from pan then add onions.

  • Step 2: Add in the flour, then brown.

  • Step 3: Add seasoning and water; stir until creamy.

  • Step 4: Simmer covered 15 minutes until onions tender. The last 5 minutes add milk, dont boil.

  • Step 5: In bottom of 5 bowls put slice of buttered toast (I would break bread up for easier eating). Pour soup over and top with crumbled bacon.
