  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • FOR SAUCE
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • Worcestershire sauce (dash of)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, bell pepper, eggs, tomatoes, and green chilies. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Step 3: Mix well, making sure all ingredients are blended.

  • Step 4: Place the meat mixture in an 8-by-8-inch baking pan, leaving a 1/2 inch around the sides.

  • Step 5: Bake for about 1 hour and 25 minutes, or until done.

  • Step 6: While the meat is cooking, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.

  • Step 7: Pour off any fat from the meatloaf and spread the brown sugar glaze over the top of the meatloaf for the final 10 minutes of cooking time.
