Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 250 grams bacon (rind removed)
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise (good quality)
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 225 grams bread slices (8 slices organic grain bread)
  • 175 grams iceberg lettuce (shredded)
  • 2 large tomatoes (sliced)
  • 1 large avocado (sliced)
  • Kettle chips (to serve optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Grill/broil the bacon until crisp, then transfer to a plate lined with paper towel to drain.

  • Step 2: Combine the mayonnaise and mustard in a bowl.

  • Step 3: Toast the bread and spread with half the mayonnaise mixture.

  • Step 4: Divide the lettuce between 4 slices of bread and then add the bacon, tomato and avocado, drizzle with remaining mayonnaise, then top with the remaining bread securing with a cocktail stick or wrap in greaseproof paper.

  • Step 5: Serve the BALT with kettle chips warmed in the oven for 5 minutes if having.
