Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (16 ounce) dry spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery chopped
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic (I would dial back here a might)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder (start with teaspoon you can always add more)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb mix
  • 1 teaspoon salt (it had tablespoon)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (it had tablespoon)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 pound tomatoes (chopped, I think they added a little more myself)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 can (3 ounce) tomato paste (it had medium can)
  • 3 cups water (it didn't have it but bet they added it)
  • FOR TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Saute veggies in oil.

  • Step 2: Add beef, spices and tomato paste.

  • Step 3: Add water, ketchup, tomatoes and bay leaf. Cook for 2 hours stirring and adding water as needed.

  • Step 4: The last 15 minutes, cook the spaghetti. Drain the add to sauce; toss. Add cheese.
