Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound cooked sliced ham (thinly sliced deli ham)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (I use the 1/3 less fat but you can also use whipped cream cheese)
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)
  • 120 grams dill pickles (4 large pickles, cut into 4ths or 6ths, depending on size of pickle, you can use Kosher if you like, but I like the old fashioned dill pickles best, You may also use whole smaller pickles if the ham slices will wrap around it)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before you make these, so that it will be easy to spread. I zap it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds)

  • Step 2: Cut dill pickles lengthwise into fourths or sixths, depending on how thick the pickles are. You need as many cut pickle spears as you have ham slices.

  • Step 3: Chop the green onions into tiny pieces, then add to cream cheese and mix well.

  • Step 4: Spread each slice of ham with a very thin layer of cream cheese. (I used about 1 teaspoon cream cheese on each ham slice. The ham doesn't need to be completely covered with cream cheese.)

  • Step 5: Put a dill pickle on the edge of each ham slice, and trim the ham if it's bigger than the dill pickle spear.

  • Step 6: Roll up the ham around the dill pickle, then place toothpicks where you want each piece to be cut.

  • Step 7: Cut into pieces so that each piece has a toothpick. (Each ham slice will be between 3-5 pieces, depending on size of slices).

  • Step 8: Chill for 1/2 hour.

  • Step 9: Arrange on plate, and serve.
