Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast (cut into chunks)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • Oil (vegetables oil, for frying, about 1/2 cup)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • FOR THE LEMON SAUCE
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1 cup lemon juice (fresh is best, but bottled is fine too or just use half fresh and bottled)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • Chili pepper flakes (1 pinch, optional, adds a slight kick)
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • Garnish
  • 1 tablespoons sesame seeds (toasted)
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a small sauce pan over medium heat mix together all sauce ingredients, and stir until sugar dissolves.

  • FOR THE CHICKEN

  • Step 2: Pat all the chicken cubes dry.

  • Step 3: Mix together salt and pepper with the flour. Coat the chicken in the mixture.

  • Step 4: Mix together milk, egg, and vinegar, and take dredged chicken, and dip into the egg, milk, vinegar mixture. Then dredge in flour again.

  • Step 5: In a medium size saute pan, heat oil. Fry the coated chicken on each side until nice and brown.

  • Step 6: Set on paper towels to catch excess oil. Toss with lemon sauce.

  • Step 7: Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and fresh green onion
