Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 tablespoons chicken stock (I used one chicken bouillon cube and 6 tablespoons water)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil (divided)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons mustard (I used lavender mustard - recipe calls for whole grain mustard)
  • 4 (6 ounce) boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt (divided)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper, divided
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (divided, I consider this optional)
  • 16 ounces green string beans (trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds (optional)
  • 2 cups rice (cooked)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook rice and keep warm - I use a rice cooker so I cook it ahead of time.

  • Step 2: Combine chicken stock (or the bouillon cube and water that I used), honey, 1 tablespoon oil and mustard in a saucepan over medium high heat, stirring and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes or until mixture is syrupy, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 3: Heat a skillet over medium high heat and add remaining oil to pan. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Add chicken to pan, cooking 5-10 minutes each side. Pour honey mixture over the chicken and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  • Step 4: Prepare green beans to desired doneness.

  • Step 5: Combine remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, butter and drained beans in a bowl and toss; sprinkle with almonds if desired.

  • Step 6: Serve chicken with rice and green beans.
