  • 1 2/3 cups dry elbow macaroni
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounce) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1 cup light cream (or milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, or to taste
  • 6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 1 can (14 ounce) diced tomatoes (very well drained)
  • 6 tablespoons bread crumbs (dry)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F, then grease a 2-quart baking dish.

  • Step 2: Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.

  • Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the soup with light cream or milk, mustard powder, garlic powder and hot pepper sauce.

  • Step 4: Stir in macaroni, chopped onion, drained tomatoes and shredded cheese. Spoon into baking dish.

  • Step 5: Combine bread crumbs and butter; sprinkle over the top.

  • Step 6: Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and bubbly.
