  • 1 pound smoked sausage (cut in 4-inch lengths)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion (cut in wedges)
  • 1 can (16 ounce) sauerkraut
  • 1 cup sliced apple (cored)
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 1/2 pounds potatoes (4 red potatoes, cubed)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large skillet, brown smoked sausage in olive oil, add onions and cook for 3 minutes.

  • Step 3: If kraut still has a sour taste, add more brown sugar to suit your taste.
