  • 1 large onion, halved then sliced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 12 fluid ounces beef stock
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the oil in a medium sized saucepan over medium high heat. Add the onions and sauté until brown, about 20 minutes, stirring often.

  • Step 2: Sprinkle the flour over the onions and continue to cook, stirring, for 2-3 minutes. Gradually add the stock, and Worcestershire sauce and continue to cook until thickened.

  • Step 3: Cover and cook, 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to develop, stirring from time to time.
