Step 1: Prepare gravy by cooking bacon in a sauce pan until partially done.
Step 2: Add onions and saute for 5 minutes.
Step 3: Pour in the beef consomme.
Step 4: Bring to a boil.
Step 5: Mix water and corn starch together.
Step 6: Add corn starch mixture to sauce pan.
Step 7: Cook till mixture has thicken.
Step 8: Lower heat.
Step 9: Add mustard, salt and pepper to taste; stir in ketchup.
Step 10: Serve over mashed potatoes, or noodles.
