Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 ounces sliced bacon (3 slices, cubed)
  • 2 small yellow onions (chopped)
  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounce) beef consomme
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

How to Make

  • Step 1: Prepare gravy by cooking bacon in a sauce pan until partially done.

  • Step 2: Add onions and saute for 5 minutes.

  • Step 3: Pour in the beef consomme.

  • Step 4: Bring to a boil.

  • Step 5: Mix water and corn starch together.

  • Step 6: Add corn starch mixture to sauce pan.

  • Step 7: Cook till mixture has thicken.

  • Step 8: Lower heat.

  • Step 9: Add mustard, salt and pepper to taste; stir in ketchup.

  • Step 10: Serve over mashed potatoes, or noodles.
