Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 large (450 grams) brown bread (I use white and prefer sliced bread)
  • 125 grams butter (or margarine)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cans (440 grams) asparagus spears (drained well)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: If using loaf bread; place in refrigerator to allow to firm. Don't leave to long or it will become stale. (This is why I use sliced).

  • Step 2: Soften the butter or margarine and season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3: Slice the bread thinly and remove crusts.

  • Step 4: Roll bread with a rolling pin to flatten slightly, & spread the crust less bread thinly with the butter mix.

  • Step 5: Place an asparagus spear on the edge of the bread slice and roll the bread up.

  • Step 6: You can use a tooth pick to hold if needed, and remove before serving.

  • Step 7: Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
