  • 1 pound caribou meat (round steak, cut in strips)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 teaspoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped yellow onion
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place meat, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, and sesame oil in a large bowl.

  • Step 2: Mix well, cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  • Step 3: Drain, reserving marinade.

  • Step 4: Heat remaining oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  • Step 5: Add meat and stir-fry until tender, about 8 minutes.

  • Step 6: Add vegetables and continue cooking until onions and peppers are tender-crisp.

  • Step 7: Mix cornstarch and water and add to the reserved marinade.

  • Step 8: Pour marinade mixture over meat and cook 5 minutes more.
