Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (4 pound) whole chicken (cut up)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3/4 to 1 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 can (8 ounces) mushrooms (undrained)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Mix spices with flour.

  • Step 3: Dip chicken in flour and get completely floured.

  • Step 4: Fry in oil until browned.

  • Step 5: In bottom of casserole, put bay leaf and mushrooms with juice. Place chicken on top.

  • Step 6: Deglaze pan with water, pour over chicken.

  • Step 7: Cover and bake 90 minutes (you may need to add more water).

  • Step 8: Uncover last 10 minutes and bump up heat to 450 degrees to get a nice crisp on.
