Step 1: In a heavy saucepan, add sugar, salt, butter and cream; bring to a full rolling boil. When mixture comes to a rolling boil, boil for exactly 2 1/2 minutes (set your timer, no less-no more).
Step 2: Remove from heat, mix in vanilla and peanut butter.
Step 3: Pour into a small buttered pan.
Step 4: Cool 30 minutes, then refrigerate until very firm.
