Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup oil (canola oil)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 ounce pear (1 large pear, peeled, cored and chopped)
  • TOPPING
  • 1 Tablespoon turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly coat a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and 1 tsp cardamom.

  • Step 3: Beat canola oil, milk and eggs in medium bowl; add to dry ingredients.

  • Step 4: Stir in pears until well combined.

  • Step 5: Pour batter into pan.

  • Step 6: Stir together sugar and 1/4 tsp cardamom; sprinkle over batter in loaf pan.

  • Step 7: Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

  • Step 8: Cool 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
