Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pounds shiitake mushrooms (fresh, or any mild flavored local mushroom)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/4 teas fine sea salt
  • 1/2 small red pepper, cut into thin slices
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wipe mushrooms clean and slice off tough stem ends. Slice mushrooms in half.

  • Step 2: Heat a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Decrease heat to low and add the butter. When melted, add remaining ingredients and toss to coat with the butter.

  • Step 3: Cover and cook 5 minutes over low heat, stirring once or twice while cooking.

  • Step 4: Serve.
