  • 2 large yellow onions
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1/4 cup grenadine
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter in saute pan.

  • Step 2: Add onions and sugar.

  • Step 3: Cook for 5 to 8 minutes until onions are caramelized.

  • Step 4: Add red wine, white vinegar, bay leaf, thyme, grenadine and salt and pepper.

  • Step 5: Simmer until liquid is gone.

  • Step 6: Serve chilled.
