Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped yellow onions
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until tender. Let cool a few minutes.

  • Step 2: In a bowl, combine onions with egg, sour cream, and pepper. Mix well; set aside.

  • Step 3: In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in 1/4 cup butter until crumbly and fine. Stir in half the cheese. Add milk to make a soft dough. Pat into a greased 9" square pan.

  • Step 4: Spread sour cream mixture on top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and parsley.

  • Step 5: Bake at 425° for 25 minutes.

  • Step 6: Cut into squares and serve warm.
