The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 cups spinach (frozen)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons minced yellow onion
  • 1/2 cup vegetable stock
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeno, minced can add more
  • TOPPING
  • Soda crackers (crushed, 1 sleeve)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Make roux with butter and flour.

  • Step 2: Add spice, stock and milk, whisk until smooth.

  • Step 3: Add cheese, whisk.

  • Step 4: Add Worcestershire, whisk.

  • Step 5: Add jalapeno, whisk.

  • Step 6: Add spinach, stir, can cool down at this point.

  • Step 7: To bake turn into a greased casserole, top with crackers, pour butter over top.

  • Step 8: Bake 350 for 30 minutes until browned and bubbly.
