The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 5 ounces raisins (1 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 pie pastry (baked)
  • 2 egg whites
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make

  • Step 1: Grind raisins in food processor.

  • Step 2: Heat butter and sugar until melted.

  • Step 3: Add 2 cups milk and scald over boiling water (im guessing double boiler here).

  • Step 4: Combine cornstarch and remaining milk raisins salt and egg yolks, add to milk mixture and stir constantly until thick, add vanilla.

  • Step 5: Pour into pie shell top with meringue.

  • Step 6: Whip egg whites until frothy add sugar gradually add vanilla, beat until stiff top pie.

  • Step 7: Bake in 350 degree oven 10 minutes or until browned.
