  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 carton (8 ounce) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine flour and coffee granules in a large bowl. Add the brown sugar and next 3 ingredients; stir well.

  • Step 2: Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press half of the crumb mixture into a greased 9 inch square baking pan; set aside.

  • Step 3: Combine sour cream and baking soda, stirring well. Add to the remaining crumb mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Add the egg, stirring gently to combine.

  • Step 4: Pour sour cream mixture over the crumb mixture in the pan; sprinkle with pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
