Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds deer meat
  • 2 tablespoons beef suet
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds carrots (8 carrots)
  • 3 ribs celery
  • 3 yellow onions
  • 1 1/2 pounds potatoes (4 potatoes)
  • 1 can (28 ounce) tomatoes
  • 12 ounces whole kernel corn (2 cups frozen)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut the meat into bite-size pieces, then brown in suet.

  • Step 2: Season with salt and pepper, cover with water and cook until done.

  • Step 3: In the meantime, prepare the vegetables, cutting into bite-size pieces. Add these to the tender meat except corn, add corn last 10 minutes of cooking and simmer until done.

  • Step 4: This is very good served with cornbread or fry bread.
